The house · Carrera 4 No. 5-39

A white house with the garden inside

Limewashed walls, stone, wooden doors and green everywhere. This is what you’ll find through the door, told from what the platforms and guests say.

Tinto Hostel’s façade with a mural: painted sky and roof with a black cat, cacti, a red wooden window, the “Tinto Hostel” tile sign and the word “Barichara” in yellow letters on a turquoise band, beside a stone path and trees.

I · The house

Lime, stone and timber

Like the rest of Barichara, the house is made of things you can see and touch: white walls, clay-tile roofs, stone paths and wooden doors.

  • Whitewash on every wall
  • Stone paths and steps
  • Timber doors, chairs and benches
  • Clay roof tiles and floor tiles

There are stairs and no lift: the upper floors are reached on foot.

II · Garden & pool

The garden gets into everything

Trees, vines, ferns, hammocks and a small pool: the garden turns up in almost every review.

  • Garden. Trees, flowering vines and shade. Some guests swear they saw hummingbirds.
  • Hammocks. Hung in the shade, for siestas with no schedule.

IV · Terrace & views

Clay roofs all the way to the hills

From up there you see the tiled town and, behind it, the green hills. Several guests recommend going up at sunrise.

“amazing view from the veranda for sunrise. All in all very chill and invites you to slow down”

VII · Residents

The cats live here

They appear on Tinto’s Instagram and in the reviews: they take over the sofas, guard the stone steps and choose whom to keep company.
